About Docker CLI
Docker CLI is the primary tool for building and running containerized applications. It supports building images from Dockerfiles, orchestrating multi-container applications with Compose, managing networks and volumes, and connecting to remote Docker daemons.
Key features
- 01Build container images from Dockerfiles and tag them for distribution
- 02Define and run multi-container application stacks with docker compose
- 03Inspect running containers, view logs, and monitor resource usage
Use cases
- 01Develop and test multi-container applications locally
- 02Build and push container images to registries in CI/CD pipelines
- 03Connect to remote Docker contexts to manage production containers
