About NASA API Integration with MCP
An MCP client integrating NASA APIs with a local LLM, enabling natural language queries for astronomy images, Mars rover photos, and near-Earth asteroid data.
Key features
- 01NASA API integration
- 02Local Ollama LLM support
- 03Astronomy image queries
- 04Mars rover data access
- 05Near-Earth asteroid tracking
Use cases
- 01Query today's astronomy picture
- 02Retrieve recent Mars rover photos
- 03Check near-Earth asteroid activity
- 04View Earth space imagery
MCP support

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
