Install dependencies:
uv sync # Recommended # Or alternatively with pip: # pip install . -
Configure environment variables:
- Create a
.envfile in the project root with the following content:ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=your_api_key_here - Replace
your_api_key_herewith your actual Anthropic API key
- Create a

Running:
python client.py weather/weather.pyIf you have a separate tools server, replace
weather/weather.pywith the location of your server
Dependencies

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
