pptx-mcp is an open-source MCP server for AI agents that need to inspect PowerPoint files. It extracts slide text, retrieves an embedded cover thumbnail, and creates an HTML preview of the first five slides; it does not render layouts or animations.

MCP support

pptx-mcp

Read, outline and preview PowerPoint (.pptx) files from any AI agent. Free and open source (MIT) Model Context Protocol server by 207studio.

What it does

pptx-mcp reads text only. It does not render layouts, images, animations or transitions.

To play .pptx files inside your web app with layout, animations and transitions, use PPTX Player SDK. It is a one-time purchase with source included.
