About Band Atlas (Hyper Nexus)

Band Atlas is a dataset and query tool for selecting and deploying cellular IoT devices, with network and band information across 172 countries. It provides device compatibility verdicts by network and records data sources and evidence grades.

Key features

  1. 01Network data across 172 countries
  2. 02LTE-M, NB-IoT, and 5G RedCap status
  3. 03Device compatibility verdicts by network
  4. 04Lists missing bands
  5. 05Sources and evidence grades for data

Use cases

  1. 01Check whether a device fits a target network
  2. 02Plan device selection for multi-country IoT projects
  3. 03Review country-level IoT readiness

MCP support

The data is available to AI assistants through an MCP server with 7 tools, covering band checks, country and operator lookups, project reports, and IoT readiness.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

How verdicts work

A device is rated good on a network when it supports the bands that carry the network's service, limited when it lacks some of them (typically a coverage band), and no when it cannot attach. missing_bands lists what is lacking. Receive-only bands (for example LTE B29 and B32) are not counted as bands that can carry a connection alone. Third-party bands come from each maker's datasheets, wiki or product pages; listing a product is not an endorsement.

Use it from an AI assistant

The same data answers through an MCP server (7 tools: band check, country, operator, project report, IoT readiness and more) and a public JSON API with an OpenAPI description. See https://www.aiotrf.com/en/ai/band-atlas/developers/.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
