About JMeter Demo Using MCP
JMeter Demo Using MCP demonstrates automated JMeter performance testing for developers using an MCP-compatible client. It supports configurable load, live monitoring, and HTML report generation.
Key features
- 01GUI and non-GUI test execution
- 02Configurable thread count and duration
- 03Automated HTML report generation
- 04Real-time test monitoring
Use cases
- 01Start performance tests through an MCP client
- 02Adjust user count and test duration
- 03Review JTL results and HTML reports
MCP support
The project includes an MCP server for JMeter integration, allowing compatible clients to trigger test execution.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEJMeter Demo Using MCP
This project demonstrates how to use JMeter with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for automated performance testing.
Prerequisites
- Python 3.x
- Apache JMeter
- MCP-compatible client (e.g., Cursor)

Setup
- Install JMeter and set up the environment:
# Set JMETER_HOME environment variable
JMETER_HOME=/path/to/apache-jmeter
- Install Python dependencies:
pip install mcp pydantic
Usage
- Run tests in GUI mode:
python test_mcp.py
- Run tests with increased users:
# Modify test_mcp.py parameters:
'-Jthreads=10' # Number of users
'-Jrampup=20' # Ramp-up period
'-Jduration=60' # Test duration
Features
- GUI and Non-GUI test execution
- Configurable thread count and test duration
- Automated HTML report generation
- Real-time test monitoring

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
