About Local MCP Client
Local MCP Client is a web and API interface for using natural language with configurable MCP servers through Ollama and a local LLM. It supports structured tool execution and dynamic agent behavior.
Key features
- 01Interact through natural language
- 02Connect to configurable MCP servers
- 03Use Ollama and local LLMs
- 04Provide web and API interfaces
Use cases
- 01Call MCP tools through a local LLM
- 02Run structured tool actions on MCP servers
MCP support
The client connects to configurable MCP servers, allowing a local LLM to initiate structured tool calls through natural-language interaction.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
