About MalwareBazaar_MCP
MalwareBazaar_MCP is an MCP server that connects to MalwareBazaar to retrieve threat intelligence and sample metadata. It is intended for authorized cybersecurity research workflows.
Key features
- 01List up to 10 recent malware samples
- 02Retrieve detailed metadata for a specific sample
- 03Look up samples associated with a tag
- 04Download a malware sample from MalwareBazaar
Use cases
- 01Reviewing the latest samples and hashes on MalwareBazaar
- 02Surveying samples linked to a particular malware tag
- 03Gathering sample metadata within an authorized research setup
MCP support
This project is an MCP server that exposes four tools to MCP clients: get_recent, get_info, get_file and get_taginfo. It requires a MALWAREBAZAAR_API_KEY set in a .env file.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
