About Blockchain CLI in Rust
A Rust demonstration that combines a basic SHA-256-linked blockchain with a menu-driven CLI and network access. It is for learners exploring blockchain fundamentals and MCP server integration; clients can retrieve the latest block or add one.
Key features
- 01Create blocks with SHA-256 hashes
- 02Print the blockchain
- 03Validate chain links
- 04Menu-driven Rust CLI
- 05Concurrent MCP server
Use cases
- 01Explore basic blockchain structure
- 02Check blockchain integrity
- 03Add blocks from a network client
- 04Study Rust and MCP integration
MCP support
The MCP server listens on 127.0.0.1:7878 and accepts JSON commands to retrieve the latest block or add a block.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
The maintainer has not added details yet. Check the README in the repository.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
