About Neuromcp.sqlserver
NeuroMCP.SqlServer provides AI agents with SQL Server access and query execution through MCP. It is one service in a collection of backend integrations that also includes Azure DevOps.
Key features
- 01SQL Server database access
- 02Query execution
- 03MCP interface for AI agents
- 04Docker image availability
Use cases
- 01Access a SQL Server database from an AI agent
- 02Run database queries through an MCP service
MCP support
The service follows the MCP specification and exposes SQL Server access and query execution to MCP clients.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMENeuroMCP
NeuroMCP (Neural Model Context Protocol) is a collection of specialized microservices that enable AI agents to interact with various backend systems through a standardized API. Each service follows the Model Context Protocol (MCP) specification to provide a consistent interface for AI agents.
Services
The project currently includes the following services:
- NeuroMCP.AzureDevOps: Integrates with Azure DevOps for work items, repositories, and more
- NeuroMCP.SqlServer: Provides SQL Server database access and query execution capabilities

image: ahmedkhalil777/neuromcp-azuredevops:latest
ports:
- "5300:5300"
volumes:
- ./azuredevops-config:/app/config
restart: unless-stopped
neuromcp-sqlserver:

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
