About Wordware MCP Server
Wordware MCP Server exposes Wordware API capabilities to MCP clients such as Claude. It includes separate examples for asynchronous tasks and a ReAct agent that can add tools dynamically.
Key features
- 01Wordware API async tasks
- 02Dynamic tools for ReAct agents
Use cases
- 01Testing Wordware async tasks in Claude
- 02Testing dynamic tool addition in a ReAct agent
MCP support
The server exposes Wordware tools to MCP clients. The README describes configuring either the async-task implementation or the ReAct agent implementation in Claude.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEHey guys!
Here is the code for MCP server.
I have split it up into 2 distinct features but they are pretty easy to combine — just easier to show as seperate.
- To run, clone repo and add a .env file with wordware API key.
- Install uv and set up our Python project and environment
Now it diverges for which features you want to test. In Claude, if you navigate to the developer page, there will be a button to edit the mcp config file. For testing async tasks, put wordware_api.py or if you want to test ReAct agent and dynamically adding tools put ReActTool.py
Then when you restart claude you will be able to use the Wordware tools!

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
