About wcag-accessibility
wcag-accessibility is an MCP server for developers and design teams auditing web interfaces against WCAG. It renders pages in Chromium, runs axe-core, and returns structured findings with rule guidance and evidence; automated checks do not replace human review.
Key features
- 01Audit rendered URLs, HTML, and local HTML files
- 02Run Chromium audits with axe-core
- 03Check contrast and suggest color adjustments
- 04Explain rules and return WCAG checklists
- 05Generate JSON, Markdown, or SARIF reports
Use cases
- 01Audit a web page before release
- 02Check local HTML during UI development
- 03Review color contrast against a WCAG profile
- 04Compare audit reports or produce a CLI report
MCP support
It exposes web accessibility audits, contrast checks, explanations, and checklists as tools for MCP clients. Matrix, screenshot/OCR, and design-snapshot tools are experimental.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
