MCP Server for Adyen Payments Integration
LocalAbout MCP Server for Adyen Payments Integration
This work-in-progress MCP server connects models to Adyen's Advanced Flow API and includes an iced-coffee tool for testing without an Adyen API key. The README says it is not ready for actual use.
Key features
- 01Interact with Adyen Advanced Flow API
- 02Fetch iced coffees for testing
- 03Configure API key through environment variable
Use cases
- 01Experiment with Adyen API interactions
- 02Test MCP using the iced-coffee tool
MCP support
Exposes tools for models through an MCP server, including payment-method access and an iced-coffee test tool. The project is described as a work in progress and not ready for actual use.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEMCP Server for Adyen Payments and Iced Coffee
This project provides a simple MCP server for models to interact with Adyen's Advanced Flow API. It also includes a tool for fetching iced coffees if you just want to test MCP but do not have an Adyen API key.
NOTE: this project is a work in progress. It is not ready for any actual use.

Update Configuration:
- Set the API Key:
For local testing, the API key for your target HTTP API should be set as an environment variable named
ADYEN_API_KEY. On Linux/macOS:
On Windows (Command Prompt):export ADYEN_API_KEY="your_secret_api_key"set ADYEN_API_KEY=your_secret_api_key
By default, the server connects to the TEST environment. You can change this via the environment variable
ADYEN_ENVIRONMENT. - Set the API Key:
For local testing, the API key for your target HTTP API should be set as an environment variable named

Build the Project: Navigate to the root directory of the
mcp-serverproject in your terminal and run the following Maven command:./gradlew clean jarThis will create a JAR file (likely in the
targetdirectory). -
Run the MCP Server: After the build is successful, run the JAR file using Java:
java -jar build/libs/adyen-payments-mcp-server-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar(The exact JAR file name might vary slightly depending on the Gradle version).
You should see the output:
Adyen Mcp Server started....
Using the MCP Server
Once the MCP server is running, AI models can use the tools. If you just want to test this tool out then the MCP Inspector is a great option:
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector java -jar build/libs/adyen-payments-mcp-server-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
If you want to use the get_payment_methods tool then make sure to add the ADYEN_API_KEY env variable (see the left sidebar below).

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
