About Route & Logistics Optimizer

An MCP server for delivery fleets, field-service teams, and sales territories. It plans vehicle routes, assigns jobs, and packs loads, with re-optimization when new orders arrive during the day.

Key features

  1. 01Route optimization with time windows and capacities
  2. 02Single-vehicle traveling-salesperson routes
  3. 03Job assignment using the Hungarian method
  4. 04Load plans constrained by vehicle capacity
  5. 05Re-routing for new orders
  6. 06Route maps and cost explanations

Use cases

  1. 01Plan fleet routes around delivery windows
  2. 02Assign field jobs by skills and travel cost
  3. 03Re-route drivers when orders arrive

MCP support

This remote MCP server provides route optimization, job assignment, load planning, and route explanation tools to clients over Streamable HTTP. It supports OAuth 2.1.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Endpointhttps://route-optimizer-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp
Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Route & Logistics Optimizer

Daily routing for delivery fleets, field-service teams and sales territories: who goes where, in what order, in which vehicle. Solves VRP / TSP with time windows and capacities, assigns jobs with the Hungarian method, packs loads, and re-optimises when new orders land midday.

Install

VS Code / GitHub Copilot

Add to .vscode/mcp.json (workspace) or your user mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "saifs-route-optimizer": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://route-optimizer-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Then start the server from the MCP view and sign in when prompted.

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste:

https://route-optimizer-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http saifs-route-optimizer https://route-optimizer-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp
Any other MCP client

Point it at https://route-optimizer-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp using the Streamable HTTP transport. The server returns 401 with a WWW-Authenticate: Bearer … resource_metadata=… challenge, so OAuth-aware clients sign in automatically.

Tools

ToolWhat it does
optimize_routesPer-vehicle ordered routes from stops, fleet and constraints (time windows, capacities, max shift length).
optimize_single_routeTSP for one vehicle or sales rep.
assign_jobsOptimal worker→job assignment (Hungarian method) from a cost matrix.
pack_loadsBin-packing load plans against vehicle capacities.
reoptimize_middayDynamic re-route from the current state plus new orders.
route_mapMap for a finished route.
explain_routeCost breakdown, constraint bindings and savings versus a naive stop order.

Example prompts

  • “Here are today’s 40 stops and 6 vans. Build routes that honour delivery windows.”
  • “Assign these field jobs to technicians by skill and travel cost, then route each person.”
  • “Three new orders just landed. Re-optimise from where the drivers are now.”

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
