About Stompy – AI Memory for Claude & MCP Agents

Stompy is a persistent memory MCP server for Claude and other MCP agents, designed to retain project knowledge between sessions. It combines hybrid search, contradiction detection, document ingestion, and project ticket management.

Key features

  1. 01Hybrid keyword and vector search
  2. 02Contradiction detection across stored knowledge
  3. 03Document ingestion with AI chunking
  4. 04Isolated project storage and cross-project search
  5. 05Ticket lifecycle management

Use cases

  1. 01Recall project context in a later session
  2. 02Search project notes by meaning or keywords
  3. 03Find contradictions in stored information
  4. 04Track project tickets alongside context

MCP support

Stompy exposes memory, search, ticketing, conflict detection, document ingestion, project, and read-only database tools to MCP clients over `https://mcp.stompy.ai`. It uses OAuth2 authorization.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Stompy – AI Memory for Claude & MCP Agents

Persistent memory system that prevents context loss between AI sessions. Store, search, and recall project knowledge across conversations.

Features

  • Semantic Search — Hybrid keyword + vector search over your project contexts
  • Conflict Detection — NLI-powered contradiction detection across stored knowledge
  • Ticket Management — Built-in ticketing with state machines per ticket type
  • Document Ingestion — Upload and process documents with AI chunking
  • Multi-Project — Isolated storage per project with cross-project search

Quick Start

VS Code / Cursor / Windsurf

Search @mcp stompy in the extensions gallery, or add manually:

// .vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "stompy": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.stompy.ai"
    }
  }
}
Claude Desktop

Add to your Claude Desktop config (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "stompy": {
      "url": "https://mcp.stompy.ai"
    }
  }
}
Claude Code
claude mcp add stompy --transport streamable-http https://mcp.stompy.ai

Tools

ToolDescription
lock_contextStore content as immutable versioned snapshot

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
