About TheSkillVault

TheSkillVault is a public, read-only MCP server for a library of vibe-coding Agent Skills and prompts. It lets coding agents and other MCP clients find relevant material and load skill instructions or supporting files.

Key features

  1. 01Search skills and prompts by task
  2. 02Load full SKILL.md instructions
  3. 03Fetch supporting skill files
  4. 04List skills and categories

Use cases

  1. 01Find skills for a coding task
  2. 02Read instructions for a named skill
  3. 03Retrieve a skill’s reference file

MCP support

Exposes search, retrieval, and listing tools to MCP clients, along with each skill as a `skill://` text/markdown resource and as prompts. The public server uses Streamable HTTP and requires no authentication.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
