Key features

  1. 01Generate manager research tearsheets
  2. 02Assess data coverage and quality
  3. 03List indexed investment managers
  4. 04Check pipeline status
  5. 05Summarize filings, personnel, and risk signals

Use cases

  1. 01Prepare diligence on a hedge fund manager
  2. 02Check data coverage before commissioning a report
  3. 03Find managers indexed in AltBots
  4. 04Review manager filings, personnel, and risk signals

MCP support

Exposes four tools to MCP clients: generate a manager tearsheet, assess coverage, list indexed managers, and check pipeline status. The server is callable from MCP-compatible clients including Claude Desktop and Cursor.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

AltBots Tearsheet Pipeline

Institutional-grade manager tearsheet generation for alternative investment research — powered by AI agents, served via MCP.

Python License: MIT MCP Server Status

What Is This?

AltBots Tearsheet is an end-to-end AI pipeline that generates structured, institutional-quality research tearsheets on alternative investment managers — hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices — from publicly available data and proprietary intelligence signals.

Built by a former Managing Director with 20+ years of institutional buy-side experience (2,000+ manager reviews, $9B+ deployed), this system encodes the actual diligence framework used at multi-billion-dollar investment offices into a fully automated, agent-driven research workflow.

Project Background

This system was designed and built by Neil Datta, founder of AltBots and NKD Advisory LLC. Prior to this, Neil served as Managing Director and Global Head of Risk & Diligence at Optima/Forbes Family Trust ($24B multi-family office), where he reviewed 2,000+ alternative investment managers and deployed $9B+ across asset classes.

AltBots encodes that institutional diligence framework into an AI-native research infrastructure that any allocator or investor relations professional can leverage at scale.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
