About MCP Server
A small personal MCP server that exposes utility functions as tools. It is intended as a test project and includes arithmetic and greeting tools, with a decorator-based pattern for adding more functions.
Key features
- 01Add two numbers
- 02Multiply two numbers
- 03Return information about Andi
- 04Greet a user by name
- 05Add tools with an MCP decorator
Use cases
- 01Test a personal MCP server setup
- 02Perform addition through an MCP tool
- 03Perform multiplication through an MCP tool
- 04Extend the server with custom functions
MCP support
Exposes arithmetic and greeting functions as tools to MCP clients. The README describes adding further tools with the `@mcp.tool()` decorator.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEMCP Server
This is a simple Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementation that exposes several utility functions as tools.
Purpose
Andi's personal MCP server test on glama.ai / Used in cursor with:
pip install "mcp[cli]"
Available Tools
The server provides the following tools:
add: Add two numbersmultiply: Multiply two numbersandigreeter: Responds with information about Andinamegreeter: Greets a user by name
Custom Development
To add more tools, simply define new functions with the @mcp.tool() decorator:
@mcp.tool()
def your_function(param1: type, param2: type) -> return_type:
"""Description of your function"""
# Your code here
return result

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
