About Anthropic MCP Code Analyzer
Anthropic MCP Code Analyzer is an MCP server for examining open-source repositories and planning their integration into an existing codebase. It combines AST and dependency analysis with Claude-generated merge strategies and conflict guidance.
Key features
- 01Analyze repository structure and patterns
- 02Extract and process documentation
- 03Parse code with AST analysis
- 04Track dependencies and architecture
- 05Generate merge plans with Claude
- 06Identify conflicts and possible fixes
Use cases
- 01Assess an open-source project before integrating it
- 02Plan repository merges and locate likely conflicts
MCP support
It provides repository-analysis and integration-planning capabilities to MCP clients, including source and target analysis, merge recommendations, and potential conflict guidance.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEAnthropic MCP Code Analyzer
An MCP server that helps analyze open source projects and integrate them with your existing codebase. This tool uses Claude to analyze code patterns, architecture, and documentation to provide intelligent merge strategies.
Features
- Repository analysis and code pattern detection
- Documentation extraction and processing
- Intelligent merge strategy generation using Claude
- AST-based code analysis
- Dependency tracking
- Architecture pattern detection
Installation
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/kivo360/anthropic-mcp-code-analyzer.git
cd anthropic-mcp-code-analyzer
- Install dependencies:
npm install
- Set up environment variables:
export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=your_api_key
export PORT=3000 # Optional, defaults to 3000
Usage
- Start the server:
npm start
- Analyze repositories and get merge strategies:
curl -X POST http://localhost:3000/analyze \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"sourceRepo": "https://github.com/user/source-repo.git",
"targetRepo": "https://github.com/user/target-repo.git"
}'
The server will return:
- Source repository analysis
- Target repository analysis
- Recommended merge strategy
- Potential conflicts and solutions
API Endpoints
POST /analyze
Analyzes source and target repositories and generates a merge strategy.
Request body:
{
"sourceRepo": "string",
"targetRepo": "string"
}
GET /health
Health check endpoint to verify server status.
How it Works
-
Repository Analysis
- Clones both source and target repositories
- Analyzes code structure using AST parsing
- Extracts patterns and dependencies
- Processes documentation
-
Pattern Detection
- Identifies common coding patterns
- Maps dependencies and relationships
- Analyzes architectural decisions
-
Merge Strategy Generation
- Uses Claude to analyze compatibility
- Generates step-by-step integration plan
- Identifies potential conflicts
- Suggests refactoring steps
-
Documentation Processing
- Extracts and analyzes documentation
- Maps knowledge between codebases
- Provides context for decisions

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
