About MyLeadTech HVAC
MyLeadTech HVAC is a hosted MCP server for HVAC technicians and others looking up equipment and manufacturer documentation. It resolves model references and returns answers with page-level citations for Carrier, Trane, and Lennox equipment.
Key features
- 01Resolve equipment models and check coverage
- 02Search manufacturer documents and citations
- 03Answer HVAC questions with page sources
- 04Retrieve cited passages and document pages
Use cases
- 01Identify equipment from a model or nameplate reference
- 02Look up a fault code in manufacturer documents
- 03Review a cited manual passage or page
MCP support
Exposes HVAC equipment lookup, document search, cited answers, and page retrieval as tools to MCP clients over Streamable HTTP. Access uses a Bearer API key or supported OAuth sign-in.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

From the project READMEMyLeadTech MCP
HVAC MCP server — fault codes, model lookup and answers cited to the OEM manual page.
This repository holds the connection details and registry metadata for the hosted MyLeadTech MCP server. There is no server code here: the server runs at the endpoint below.
- Endpoint:
https://mcp.myleadtech.app/mcp/ - Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Auth: API key from the MyLeadTech dashboard, sent as
Authorization: Bearer <api_key>. The site also lists OAuth sign-in with a MyLeadTech account for clients that support it. - Brands served: Carrier, Trane, Lennox
- Sandbox: 100 free units a month. Equipment lookups and clarifying questions don't count. A retried request with the same idempotency key is never charged twice.
Tools
| Tool | What it does | Parameters |
|---|---|---|
resolve_equipment | Turns a model or nameplate reference into brand and equipment, and reports coverage. Not charged. | reference, market (default us), language (default en-US) |
search_hvac_documents | Finds passages and citations in manufacturer documents. | question, brand, model_reference, fault_code, language, limit (default 5), operation_id |
get_hvac_source | Returns a cited passage with bounded context. | source_id |
answer_hvac_question | A written answer with numbered, page-level sources. | question, brand, model_reference, fault_code, language, limit (default 5), operation_id |
get_hvac_document_page | A source page as PNG, or a signed single-page PDF link when format is pdf. | document_version_id, page_number, format (default png), region |
operation_id makes a retry replay the earlier result instead of charging again.
Install
Create an API key in the dashboard first.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http myleadtech https://mcp.myleadtech.app/mcp/ --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
Without --header, Claude Code can sign you in with your MyLeadTech account instead.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
