About Apple Health Mcp Server
Apple Health MCP Server is an MCP tool that lets Claude and other MCP-compatible AI agents analyze Apple Health data. Users can query and analyze health records in natural language without knowing the data structure or SQL.
Key features
- 01Imports and parses Apple Health XML exports
- 02Natural language search and filtering
- 03Supports Elasticsearch, ClickHouse and DuckDB
- 04Data summaries and trend analysis
- 05Configured through .env and deployable with Docker
Use cases
- 01Asking for a summary of recent weekly activity
- 02Summarizing running workouts over a chosen period
- 03Indexing health data in DuckDB or Elasticsearch for search
MCP support
The server provides MCP tools for structure analysis, record search and type-based extraction that MCP clients such as Claude can call.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From the project READMENote
This project has evolved into Open Wearables - self-hosted platform to unify wearable health data from multiple devices, including Apple Health. Open Wearables also provides an MCP server and a companion app for continuous Apple Health data sync, eliminating the need for manual XML exports. Check it out: github.com/the-momentum/open-wearables
Connect your Apple Health data with any LLM that supports MCP. Talk to your data and get personalised insights.
💡 Demo
This demo shows how Claude uses the apple-health-mcp-server to answer questions about your data. Example prompts from the demo:
- I would like you to help me analyze my Apple Health data. Let's start by analyzing the data types - check what data is available and how much of it there is.
- What can you tell me about my activity in the last week? How did my daily statistics look?
- Please also summarise my running workouts in July and June. Do you see anything interesting?

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
