AskRentAI is a hosted, read-only MCP server for Rent Manager, the property management platform used across a large share of US rental housing. It gives any MCP-compatible client live access to your portfolio — NOI, rent roll, delinquency, vacancy, lease expirations, work orders, vendor spend, financial reports and stored documents.

Read-only by design. AskRentAI reads from Rent Manager and never writes to it. It cannot post a charge, edit a lease, or change a tenant record. Point a read-only Rent Manager API user at it and the blast radius is zero.

Why this exists

Rent Manager ships a capable web API. Turning it on is easy; using it is not — somebody has to know which endpoint holds the data, how the tables relate, how to authenticate and page. That's a developer, and most operators don't have one to spare for a reporting question.

So API access sits switched on and unused, and everyone goes back to exporting reports by hand.

AskRentAI closes that gap: the AI calls the API for you, at the moment you ask.

What you can ask

Plain English, no report names, no exports:

• "Which leases expire in the next 90 days, and what are those units paying?"

Setup

1. Create a Rent Manager API user. Read-only is enough. Note the username, password and your Rent Manager database URL.
2. Sign up at askrentai.com/signup and paste those in. The connection is verified on the spot.
3. Connect your AI — you'll get an endpoint and a token.
