Key features

  1. 01Add, remove, enable, and configure servers
  2. 02Discover and invoke tools, prompts, and resources
  3. 03Forward tools from other MCP servers
  4. 04Start enabled servers automatically
  5. 05Cache tools

Use cases

  1. 01Managing configured MCP servers from a client
  2. 02Finding and invoking tools across enabled servers
  3. 03Switching server availability to manage tool access

MCP support

Acts as an MCP server manager and passthrough, exposing controls and discovery for other servers' tools, prompts, and resources to MCP clients.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
