[DEPRECATED] Cosmos DB MCP Server
LocalAbout [DEPRECATED] Cosmos DB MCP Server
This repository contains sample MCP servers backed by Azure Cosmos DB, written in several languages. It shows how to create, query, update and delete documents with the Azure Cosmos DB SDKs. The project is marked deprecated and points to the official Azure Cosmos DB MCP Toolkit.
Key features
- 01Multi-language MCP server samples
- 02Document operations using Azure Cosmos DB SDKs
- 03Examples in TypeScript, Go, Java and Python
Use cases
- 01Learning how to build MCP servers on Azure Cosmos DB
- 02Comparing Cosmos DB integration patterns across languages
MCP support
The samples show how to build MCP servers that expose Azure Cosmos DB document operations to MCP clients.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
