MCP support

A hosted remote MCP server that provides 19 read-only tools to MCP clients over Streamable HTTP. Connections require an MCP key.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Copy install command

Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Live and historical crypto market data for AI agents: prices, OHLCV history, sentiment indices, technical indicators, exchanges, liquidations and conversions, as 19 read-only tools.

It is a hosted, remote MCP server: there is nothing to install or run. Point any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP at the endpoint below and add your key.

Endpointhttps://bitculator.com/mcp

AuthenticationMCP key, as Authorization: Bearer <key> or X-API-Key: <key>

Get a key

Create a key in the MCP console. The free MCP plan works, no card required. MCP keys are their own product: Data API keys and widget keys are rejected with 401 unauthenticated.

Keep the key out of shared files you commit: put it in your client's settings or an environment variable.

Connect

Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http bitculator \
    https://bitculator.com/mcp \
    --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
Cursor

This repository is also a Cursor plugin (.cursor-plugin/plugin.json): it asks for your MCP key once (stored by Cursor, never in this repo) and adds the server and the bitculator skill. Or configure it by hand in ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "bitculator": {
      "url": "https://bitculator.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" }

Claude API (MCP connector)
curl https://api.anthropic.com/v1/messages \

Smithery and other gateways

On Smithery, enter your MCP key in the connection form. Gateways that reserve the Authorization header for their own sign-in can send the same key as an X-API-Key header instead.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
