ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
sizeanyNoPorte: 'small'/'pequeno', 'medium'/'medio', 'large'/'grande'.
limitintegerNoNumber of results to return per page. Values above 24 are reduced to 24. Searching by `name` returns at most 5: this is a list for confirmation, not for browsing.
stateanyNoTwo-letter abbreviation for the state (SP, MG), only to disambiguate `city`. Searching by state alone is NOT supported: always send `city` as well.
rescueranyNoRestricts the search to ONE NGO or rescuer: the short code from the link or the NGO's Instagram @ handle. Combines with other filters ('kittens from this NGO'). Without it, the search covers the entire catalog.
speciesanyNoSpecies: 'dog'/'cachorro' or 'cat'/'gato'.
neuteredanyNotrue returns only neutered pets. `false` is IGNORED for the same reason as `vaccinated`; each pet's value is in `neutered`.
radius_kmanyNoRadius in km (1 to 100) for `area=radius`. Sending only `radius_km` already means radius.
vaccinatedanyNotrue returns only vaccinated pets. `false` is IGNORED: most listings do not specify vaccination, so filtering for 'not vaccinated' would hide almost the entire catalog. Each pet's value is in `vaccinated` (null = the NGO did not provide the information).
include_olderbooleanNoNo effect at the moment: the catalog returns pets listed on any date, regardless of this parameter. Kept for compatibility. A result may be old: when present, `days_without_update` says how long ago it was updated.
special_needsanyNotrue returns only pets with special care needs; false returns only those with none recorded.
age_max_monthsanyNoMaximum age in months. The catalog distinguishes only three age groups—puppy/kitten, adult, and senior—so without size, 6 and 12 select the same pets. The cutoffs vary by species and size: senior starts at 8 years for large dogs, 9 for medium dogs, and 10 for small dogs and cats.
good_with_catsanyNoOnly pets that get along well with cats.
good_with_dogsanyNoOnly pets that get along well with dogs.
good_with_kidsanyNoOnly pets that get along well with children.
widen_if_emptybooleanNoIf the requested area has no available pets matching the filters, expands outward from it: nearby cities, then a 50 km radius, then 100 km, stopping at the first step with pets. `searched_area` indicates what was used.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
