LocalAbout Claude MCP Server with Python 🧠⚙️
Claude MCP Server with Python is a learning project for building Python-based MCP servers compatible with Claude. It shows how to deploy local tools such as a to-do app, database integration, or image editing features for Claude Desktop.
Key features
- 01Build MCP servers with Python
- 02Deploy custom tools locally
- 03Examples include to-do and database tools
- 04Run with Claude Desktop
Use cases
- 01Creating a local to-do tool for Claude
- 02Connecting a database through a custom tool
- 03Providing image editing features to Claude
MCP support
The project guides the creation of Python MCP servers that expose custom tools to Claude Desktop.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
