About mcp-iniciador

@codespar/mcp-iniciador is an MCP server for Iniciador, a Brazilian Open Finance PISP aggregator for Pix payment initiation. It is intended for applications and agents that send instant Pix outflows under OFB consent. The server holds the ICP-Brasil certificate arrangement on the provider side and coordinates DCR with banks.

Key features

  1. 01List banks supported for Pix initiation
  2. 02Create, read and revoke payment consents
  3. 03Initiate Pix payments and track their status
  4. 04Filter payment history by date and status
  5. 05Build OFB authorization URLs

Use cases

  1. 01Sending Pix payments after the payer authorizes consent
  2. 02Tracking Pix payment status and rejection reasons
  3. 03Generating authorization links for payers

MCP support

The project runs as an MCP server that exposes 9 tools to MCP clients for institutions, consents and Pix payments.

Authentication

This server uses Iniciador's API key auth (X-API-KEY header). The Pix-out call itself is signed end-to-end with the consumer's bank-issued consent token, which Iniciador's backend stitches in after the payer authorizes the consent at their bank. OAuth2 client-credentials is required for some flows and lands when consent + bank-issued token plumbing is wired end-to-end.

Issue credentials during Iniciador onboarding:

Iniciador vs Pluggy vs Belvo

Three OFB aggregators in this catalog, each with a different specialty:

AggregatorStrengthBest for
IniciadorPix payment initiation (PISP)Outgoing payments under OFB consent
Pluggy (@codespar/mcp-pluggy)Account + transaction readsReconciliation, balance polling
Belvo (@codespar/mcp-belvo)Multi-LATAM Open Finance + payroll + taxCross-border (BR + MX + CO + AR)

For commerce agents that need both reads and writes, compose them — Pluggy/Belvo for account + recon visibility + Iniciador for Pix initiation.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
