About 17NAS Network Tools
17NAS Network Tools is an MCP server for network diagnostics, intended for users who need IP, DNS, or IPv6 checks. It provides three focused tools and requires no API key.
Key features
- 01Public IP address, protocol, country, ASN, and location
- 02DNS lookup for common record types
- 03IPv6 reachability and connectivity check
Use cases
- 01Inspect public IP details
- 02Look up A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, or CNAME records
- 03Compare IPv6 and IPv4 connectivity
MCP support
Exposes three network diagnostic tools to MCP clients: public IP information, DNS lookup, and IPv6 reachability checks. No API key is required.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
