About docs

Empryo is a coding tool for developers that reads project structure before editing, replaces functions or classes by name, and runs typecheck, lint and tests in the same turn. It runs as a desktop app, in the terminal or headless, and keeps per-project decisions and past bugs.

Key features

  1. 01Reads project structure before making edits
  2. 02Replaces functions or classes by name
  3. 03Runs typecheck, lint and tests after changes
  4. 04Stores per-project decisions and past bugs

Use cases

  1. 01Making edits across large codebases
  2. 02Running an agent headless in CI
  3. 03Searching Empryo documentation from an MCP client

MCP support

This entry is an MCP server. The docs server exposes Empryo's documentation to MCP clients for search and reading. It is read-only, requires no authentication and has no local file access.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Install

curl -fsSL https://empryo.com/install.sh | bash # macOS, Linux
irm https://empryo.com/install.ps1 | iex # Windows

Desktop app and installers: empryo.com/download only.

What it does

  • It reads the map first. It knows what an edit will touch before it makes it.
  • It edits by name. A function or class, replaced exactly.
  • It checks its own work. Typecheck, lint and tests, fixed in the same turn.
  • It remembers. Decisions and past bugs, per project.

Where Empryo stands

Every published run added up: Empryo against OpenCode, Claude Code and pi, on time and cost

Every published run, added up. Shorter bars win. Checked against the bill. All rounds

Desktop, terminal or headless

One agent, the same map and memory, wherever you run it.

Public core and engine

This repository contains the public SoulForge v2 core and engine code under its existing license. It is not the full source of Empryo v3; the current desktop app, new surfaces and newest features are developed privately.

Empryo v3 usage

Empryo v3 is free for personal and internal business use, including company development, paid client work and headless CI. You can sell the work you create with it. Selling, hosting, wrapping or bundling Empryo itself as a commercial offering requires the owner's explicit prior written permission in a separate commercial license. Contact [email protected].

The Empryo v3 license applies only to distributions supplied under those terms. It does not replace this repository's SoulForge license, revoke earlier grants or change their existing conversion rights.

Bugs go to Issues, ideas to Discussions.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
