About Jam SQL Studio

Lets AI agents query SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and SQLite via the Jam SQL Studio app

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"com-jamsql-jam-sql-studio": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"@jamsql/mcp"
],
"env": {
"JAMSQL_MCP_URL": "<JAMSQL_MCP_URL>",
"JAMSQL_MCP_TOKEN": "<JAMSQL_MCP_TOKEN>"
}
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y @jamsql/mcp
Environment variables to set
JAMSQL_MCP_URLMCP endpoint of the running Jam SQL Studio app. Leave unset to find it automatically through ~/.jamsql/mcp-discovery.json.
JAMSQL_MCP_TOKENSecretBearer token from Settings → AI Integrations. Leave unset to use the token saved by `jam-sql pair`.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
