About OG Stamp
OG Stamp is an image API with an official Node/TypeScript client for producing hosted Open Graph images. Its client supports stored image URLs, while render and auto can be tried without a key using watermarked images.
Key features
- 01Generate hosted Open Graph images
- 02Store images behind stable URLs
- 03Render or auto-generate without a key
- 04Return image URL and HTML
Use cases
- 01Create og:image cards for web pages
- 02Preview image generation before using an API key
MCP support
The project links to an MCP endpoint whose image tools use the same api_key as the service and return hosted image URLs.

import { OgStamp } from "ogstamp";
const og = new OgStamp({ apiKey: process.env.OGSTAMP_API_KEY });
// Stable URL for og:image. One credit. The key never appears in the HTML.
const card = await og.store({ title: "Ship social cards from an API", theme: "forest" });
// card.url → https://ogstamp.com/i/….png
// card.html → <meta property="og:image" content="https://ogstamp.com/i/….png" />
// Same card, built from a page's own title, description, and favicon.
const fromPage = await og.storeFromUrl({ url: "https://example.com/blog/post" });
Try before you buy
render() and auto() work without a key. Those PNGs are watermarked and capped at 10 per site per day. Use store() or storeFromUrl() for anything you put in og:image.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
