About Caption File Check

Caption File Check is a hosted PowMCP server for checking caption files. It validates WebVTT, SRT, and TTML for conformance and caption quality issues, and can compare two files.

Key features

  1. 01Check WebVTT, SRT, and TTML
  2. 02Validate format conformance
  3. 03Check timing and overlaps
  4. 04Review line length and reading speed
  5. 05Compare two caption files

Use cases

  1. 01Check captions before publishing a video
  2. 02Find timing overlaps in subtitle files
  3. 03Review caption line length and reading speed
  4. 04Compare caption revisions

MCP support

The hosted remote MCP server uses Streamable HTTP and exposes `caption_check` and `caption_compare` tools to MCP clients.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Copy install command
Claude CodeTerminal
Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

PowMCP MCP server guide

PowMCP provides hosted, task-specific MCP servers. This repository documents three of them, their remote connection URLs, and their public MCP Registry descriptors. The hosted server implementation is proprietary and is not contained in this repository. You do not need to install or run code from this repository to use the servers.

ServerRemote MCP endpointToolsGuideRegistry descriptor
SSL Certificate Checkhttps://powmcp.com/ssl-certificate-check/mcpssl_checkSSL guideserver.json
Ebook File Checkhttps://powmcp.com/epub-check/mcpebook_check, ebook_compareEPUB guideserver.json
Caption File Checkhttps://powmcp.com/caption-file-check/mcpcaption_check, caption_compareCaption guideserver.json

Each URL is a separate remote MCP server using Streamable HTTP. Add only the URL for the tool you need to an MCP client that supports remote servers. For example, a client that accepts an mcpServers JSON entry can use:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "powmcp-ssl-certificate-check": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://powmcp.com/ssl-certificate-check/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Replace the name and URL with one of the other entries above to connect another server. The individual app pages also provide client-specific connection buttons and commands. If your client requests authorization, complete its native sign-in flow. Client support for PowMCP account linking varies; consult the connection instructions on the app page. Usage allowances and any paid options are shown on the PowMCP apps and usage page.

The guides explain each tool's input and what its result can establish. For help with connection or results, contact [email protected]. See support and security for reporting guidance.

The MIT license applies to documentation, descriptors, and example configuration in this repository. It does not grant a license to the proprietary hosted implementation or to PowMCP's names and logos. References to third-party validation standards and components in the guides do not imply ownership of them by PowMCP.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
