Talindrew: molecular biology tools
RemoteAbout Talindrew: molecular biology tools
Talindrew provides a remote MCP server with 90 molecular biology tools for researchers and lab teams. Its tools calculate sequence, primer and cloning results using Talindrew's engines, and also cover literature search and lab notebooks.
Key features
- 01Sequence analysis and restriction digests
- 02Primer and CRISPR guide design
- 03Cloning workflow design and checks
- 04PubMed and gene database search
- 05Lab notebook and account exports
Use cases
- 01Plan a restriction digest and inspect its gel
- 02Design and check cloning primers
- 03Find and rank CRISPR guides
- 04Search papers and record lab work
MCP support
The remote MCP server exposes 90 molecular biology tools to MCP clients over Streamable HTTP. Sign-in uses OAuth with a Google account.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Details
From the project READMETalindrew MCP server: molecular biology tools for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor
Talindrew is a browser-based molecular biology platform (plasmid editor, cloning design, primer design, lab notebook, protein structure prediction and drug discovery). Its remote MCP server gives any MCP client 90 molecular biology tools that run on Talindrew's engines, so numbers like a primer's Tm or a digest's fragment sizes are computed, not recalled from a model's memory.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
