About The Neural Ledger Intelligence

The Neural Ledger Intelligence is a read-only MCP server for querying event and evidence intelligence through The Neural Ledger API. It serves clients that need news, entity, asset, impact-path, and event research, with optional scoped research tools and an MCP App workspace.

Key features

  1. 01News search
  2. 02Asset and entity intelligence
  3. 03Impact-path analysis
  4. 04Event explanations
  5. 05Ledger AI deep research
  6. 06Service status checks

Use cases

  1. 01Researching an event and its evidence
  2. 02Tracing effects across assets and entities
  3. 03Running scoped deep-research tasks

MCP support

Exposes read-only event and evidence intelligence tools to MCP clients, including news search, asset and entity analysis, event explanation, deep research, and service status. A configured TnlResearchRunner adds six scoped research tools and an MCP App resource.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

From the project README

@theneuralledger/mcp

Read-only Model Context Protocol server for The Neural Ledger event and evidence intelligence API.

Stdio

TNL_API_KEY=tnl_... npx -y @theneuralledger/mcp

Streamable HTTP

npx -y @theneuralledger/mcp http

The server binds to 127.0.0.1:7317 by default. Override it with TNL_MCP_HOST and TNL_MCP_PORT. HTTP clients may send their TNL key as Authorization: Bearer ...; it is forwarded only to the TNL API and is never included in tool output.

HTTP mode requires a bearer key even when TNL_API_KEY is present in the server environment. A loopback-only single-user deployment can explicitly restore environment-key fallback with TNL_MCP_ALLOW_ENV_API_KEY=1; do not enable that mode on a shared or remotely reachable server.

The tools expose news search, asset/entity/impact-path intelligence, event explanation, Ledger AI deep research, and service status. TNL provides event and evidence intelligence; its market quotes are display context rather than an execution-grade price feed.

When configured with a TnlResearchRunner, the server also exposes six scoped tnl_research_* tools plus the ui://tnl/research-workspace MCP App resource. Without that runner, research tools are not advertised. Hosted callers must hold the tnl:research scope in addition to base read access.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
