WP Image Fixer: WordPress image optimization MCP server

Optimize WordPress images. Make slow WordPress pages load faster: shrink and resize heavy images, keeping JPEG and PNG as they are or converting to WebP when you ask. Any optimization can be undone.

Ask why a page is slow and WP Image Fixer checks that page's images; ask it to fix them and it works on the images already in your media library, with AVIF as well as WebP, keeping every original. It can also help your images show up in image search.

Connect your self-hosted WordPress site with a one-time approval link in your wp-admin: no password is shared and no plugin is required.

WP Image Fixer is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for WordPress. Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.0: keyless, no API key to paste.

Connect

WP Image Fixer is a remote MCP server: no install, no local process.

  • Claude: add it from Claude's connector directory: https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/wp-image-fixer
  • Any MCP client: point it at the endpoint; OAuth runs on first connect.
    • Endpoint: https://mcp.wpimagefixer.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP)
    • Auth: OAuth 2.0 (Dynamic Client Registration + PKCE)
Generic MCP client (JSON)

    "wp-image-fixer": {
      "url": "https://mcp.wpimagefixer.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Then just ask

  • "Connect my WordPress site to WP Image Fixer and help me optimize its images."
  • "Use WP Image Fixer to check why my WordPress homepage is slow."
  • "Use WP Image Fixer to tell me how much my WordPress media library can shrink."

You always get a preview before anything changes, and your originals stay on your own site.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
