About Knot
Knot is a remote MCP server with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE for sharing project state, decisions, and vetted context across AI clients. It also supports session recovery, context supersession, and task handoffs between agents.
Key features
- 01Retrieve context across AI clients
- 02Recover sessions from another AI
- 03Save facts, decisions, constraints, and goals
- 04Track context updates and supersession
- 05Hand off multi-step tasks between agents
- 06Switch personal and team shared scopes
Use cases
- 01Continue project work across AI clients
- 02Resume a session started with another AI
- 03Record decisions and replace outdated context
- 04Hand a multi-step task from Claude to Cursor
MCP support
Its remote streamable-http endpoint exposes MCP tools for context retrieval, saving, handoffs, and scope management. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
