Tools
4| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| city | string | No | City where the practice is located. Send city and state separately, not as a combined `location` string. |
| state | string | No | Practice location as a two-letter state abbreviation (e.g. 'TX', 'CA', 'NY'). Required unless vendor_geo_preference is NATIONAL_OK or NATIONAL_ONLY. Send as `state`, not `state_abbr` (`state_abbr` is an output field name only). |
| category | string | Yes | Service category needed. One of the 25 categories: 'Medical Billing & RCM', 'Credentialing Services', 'Healthcare IT & EHR', 'Practice Management Consulting', 'Healthcare Legal Services', 'Healthcare CPA & Tax Advisory', 'Medical Coding Services', 'Healthcare Staffing & Recruiting', 'Healthcare Marketing & Reputation Management', 'Compliance & HIPAA Services', 'Medical Equipment & Supplies', 'Healthcare Real Estate & Site Selection', 'Practice Financing & Loans', 'Healthcare Construction & Facilities', 'Healthcare Signage & Wayfinding', 'Medical Waste & Environmental Services', 'Healthcare Insurance & Malpractice Brokers', 'Practice Valuation & Brokerage', 'Patient Financing & Payment Solutions', 'Medical Transcription & Documentation', 'Pharmacy & Medication Management', 'Telehealth & Virtual Care Infrastructure', 'Laboratory & Diagnostics Services', 'Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs)', 'Healthcare PR & Communications'. Common aliases also resolve (e.g. 'billing', 'RCM', 'EHR', 'credentialing'). Call list_categories for the live list with provider counts. |
| specialty | string | No | Medical specialty of the practice (e.g. 'Family Medicine', 'Cardiology', 'Pediatrics', 'Dermatology') |
| ehr_system | string | No | EHR system used by the practice (e.g. 'Epic', 'athenahealth', 'AdvancedMD', 'eClinicalWorks'). Helps score providers with compatible integrations higher. |
| budget_range | enum | No | Approximate monthly budgetUnder $500 | $500-$2,000 | $2,000-$5,000 | $5,000+ | Not sure |
| practice_size | enum | No | Size of the practice by provider count. The parameter is named `practice_size`, not `size`.Solo | Small | Mid-size | Large |
| service_needs | array | No | Up to six distinct controlled service codes, never free text. STAFFING_* codes apply to Healthcare Staffing & Recruiting, BILLING_* codes to Medical Billing & RCM, and CRED_* codes to Credentialing Services (including aliases). Within a staffing facet codes are alternatives; across facets they ask for combined coverage. Un-evidenced needs are unknown and never exclude a vendor. |
| vendor_geo_preference | enum | No | Vendor geography preference, separate from practice location: LOCAL_PREFERRED prefers same-city vendors, STATE_PREFERRED prefers in-state vendors, NATIONAL_OK allows national vendors to compete across geography tiers, and NATIONAL_ONLY restricts eligibility to national or explicitly serves-your-state vendors. State may be omitted for NATIONAL_OK or NATIONAL_ONLY.LOCAL_PREFERRED | STATE_PREFERRED | NATIONAL_OK | NATIONAL_ONLY |

From the project READMEGPH Intelligence - Healthcare Vendor Finder
An MCP server that gives AI agents access to 76,000+ curated healthcare service vendors across the United States. Built for practice managers, healthcare AI developers, and anyone building tools for the medical practice market.
What It Does
The GPH Intelligence MCP server provides structured access to GetPracticeHelp's database of healthcare service vendors -- medical billing companies, credentialing services, EHR consultants, healthcare attorneys, compliance firms, and more -- across 25 categories and all 50 states.
Tools
match_practice
Find the best healthcare service vendors for a medical practice based on specialty, size, location, EHR system, and budget. Returns ranked matches with profile-completeness scores.
Parameters:
category(required) -- Service category (e.g. "Medical Billing & RCM", "Credentialing Services")state(required) -- Two-letter state abbreviation (e.g. "TX", "CA")specialty-- Practice specialty (e.g. "Family Medicine", "Cardiology")practice_size-- "Solo", "Small", "Mid-size", or "Large"city-- City nameehr_system-- EHR system in use (e.g. "Epic", "athenahealth")budget_range-- Monthly budget range
search_providers
Search the vendor directory by category, location, and minimum profile-completeness score. Returns paginated results.
Parameters:
category(required) -- Service category to searchstate-- Two-letter state abbreviationcity-- City name filtermin_rating-- Minimum profile-completeness score (0-100; not a quality rating)per_page-- Results per page (default 10, max 25)page-- Page number
get_provider_detail
Get the full profile for a specific vendor including description, services, contact information, and profile-completeness score.
Parameters:
slug(required) -- Vendor slug identifier (e.g. "ams-solutions-inc-dallas-tx")
get_ehr_product_detail
Read the free P1 EHR product projection as JSON, with all publication metadata, facts, explicit editions, plans, conditions and sources unchanged.
Parameters:
product_key(required) -- Exact published product key; aliases are not resolved.edition_key-- Exact explicit edition under that product. Validates identity and returns the full product JSON unchanged; no filtering, merging or inheritance.
Invalid or unknown identities return isError: true with the projection's product_not_found JSON shape. Unknown statuses, absent fields and null/open numeric bounds remain untouched. This tool performs no ranking or calculation. Company tools retain their existing contracts.
Release obligations (C840 s.2; E8 section 4): run node --test tests/*.test.mjs through the existing PR gate and deploy workflow. The fixture tests cover HTTP/MCP parity, edition identity, invalid IDs, unknown/open bounds and byte-identical existing tool definitions. Controller release must bind independent verification to the final diff, deploy through the existing governed workflow, then read back tools/list and a product call logged out against the same published HTTP JSON and publication version. Live parity and deployment remain unverified until that read-back. A P1 schema or identity change requires parity review; no local factual copy is maintained.

API Access
Free, no API key required. The full public directory may be read, including every page of every category. A per-IP request-rate safety valve (120 calls per 60 seconds, plus a daily backstop of 20,000 calls) protects the service. It limits rate, not total, so a full-directory read paced at 2 calls per second or less is never refused.
Troubleshooting
- No results returned -- broaden your query.
categoryis required, so make sure it is set; then try removing thecity/min_ratingfilters or widening thestate(national providers are always included). - "Rate limit exceeded" -- more than 120 calls in 60 seconds from one IP, or 20,000 in one UTC day. The tool result has
isError: trueand aretry_after_secondsvalue. Wait that long and continue. - Can't connect -- point your client at the remote endpoint, no API key required:
npx -y mcp-remote https://gph-mcp-server.pages.dev/mcp - 403 from a browser -- the
/mcpendpoint validates theOriginheader to prevent DNS rebinding. Standard MCP clients (Claude Desktop,mcp-remote, server-to-server) send noOriginheader and connect fine; only disallowed browser origins are blocked. - Support -- questions or higher-volume access requests: [email protected]

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
