About datadog-mcp-server
datadog-mcp-server lets AI assistants search and analyze Datadog logs using queries, time filters, and pagination. It is for teams troubleshooting services through log data.
Key features
- 01Search Datadog logs
- 02Filter by time range
- 03Paginate results with cursors
Use cases
- 01Find service error logs
- 02Inspect logs from a time window
MCP support
The MCP server exposes a log-search tool to MCP clients. It supports stdio transport only.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEDatadog MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables AI assistants to search and analyze Datadog logs directly. This integration allows AI assistants to query your Datadog logs using natural language, making troubleshooting and log analysis more efficient.
Features
- Log Searching: Search Datadog logs using flexible query parameters
- Time-Based Filtering: Filter logs by specific time ranges
- Pagination Support: Navigate through large log sets with cursor-based pagination
- Coming Soon: Metrics retrieval functionality
Prerequisites
- A Datadog account with API access
- Datadog API and Application keys(See docs for detail)
Setup
Add the MCP server configuration to your AI assistant's MCP settings file:

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
