Environment variables to set
BRANDBRAIN_API_URLOverride the BrandBrain API endpoint (defaults to https://api.brandbrain.dev). Only needed for self-hosted/dev deployments.
BRANDBRAIN_APP_URLOverride the BrandBrain web app URL used for browser auth flows (defaults to https://brandbrain.dev).
BRANDBRAIN_FLOW_MCP_BEARER_TOKENSecretOptional static bearer token for non-interactive environments. Browser OAuth via login_brandbrain is preferred.
BRANDBRAIN_MAX_PROVIDER_SPEND_USD_MICROSPer-run provider spend ceiling in USD micros (1000000 = $1.00). Live runs are refused while unset; mock runs work without it.

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
