About Scoopkit

Scoopkit is a hosted MCP server for agents that need structured AI-industry news. It deduplicates coverage into sourced events, classified with a published taxonomy and revision history.

Key features

  1. 01Deduplicated news events
  2. 0210-category, 57-subcategory taxonomy
  3. 03Event sources and correction history
  4. 04Filters and pagination
  5. 05Optional semantic search

Use cases

  1. 01Track recent AI model releases
  2. 02Review AI funding rounds with sources
  3. 03Inspect how a news story changed

MCP support

Scoopkit provides a hosted Streamable HTTP MCP server at https://api.scoopkit.dev/mcp. Its tools list and retrieve events, expose the taxonomy, search events, and request a free API key.

Configuration

Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Copy install command

Cursor.cursor/mcp.json
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json
Windsurf~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Run commands in a terminal; paste JSON into the client’s MCP config and restart. Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Scoopkit MCP server

MCP Registry Endpoint Free tier Glama

AI-industry news for agents. When a model ships, forty outlets write about it; Scoopkit returns the story once, as a structured event classified against a published taxonomy (10 categories, 57 subcategories), with its sources and a correction_history showing how the story changed.

This repo holds setup docs and an Agent Plugins manifest (plugin.json, mcp.json), no server code. The server is hosted at https://api.scoopkit.dev/mcp (Streamable HTTP). There is nothing to install or run.

No API key needed to start. Without a key you get the free tier: the last 45 days of events, 100 calls a day. A free key (same limits, tied to you) comes from scoopkit.dev/start or the request_magic_link tool. A Pro key adds semantic search, a 12-month archive and 10,000 calls a day.

Try it without an MCP client: api.scoopkit.dev/v1/demo/events returns the latest events as JSON, no key, so you can see the shape before connecting anything.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
