DevX Token Snapshot
RemoteAbout DevX Token Snapshot
DevX Token Snapshot is a read-only ERC-20 inspection service for seven EVM chains, intended for agents and apps that need token market and contract-risk details without an indexer. It derives snapshots from on-chain reads and offers access through a hosted API, CLI, or MCP.
Key features
- 01USD price and fully diluted valuation
- 02Liquidity and top pools
- 03Holder concentration indicators
- 04Bytecode-based contract risk flags
- 05Free token basics and paid full snapshot
Use cases
- 01Review a token before a trade
- 02Compare liquidity and pools across tokens
- 03Check contract permissions and risk indicators
MCP support
The CLI provides a stdio MCP client for the hosted API, with `token_basics`, `token_snapshot`, and `token_snapshot_info` tools. A remote streamable HTTP MCP endpoint offers free basics and information; the full snapshot tool is paid.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

From the project READMEDevX Token Snapshot
One call: what is this token, what is it worth, and is it risky? For any ERC-20 on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche and BNB Chain you get the USD price, FDV, DEX liquidity, top pools, holder-concentration hints and bytecode risk flags. It is built for AI agents and apps that need a quick token check without an API key or their own indexer.
Everything comes from on-chain reads (DEX factory lookups, pool state, contract bytecode and storage) through public RPCs. No third-party market API. It is read-only, never asks for keys and never moves funds.
| What | Cost | |
|---|---|---|
CLI / stdio MCP devx-token-snapshot (v2) | Client for the hosted API below. Token basics are free; full / token_snapshot is the paid call, paid from your own wallet key | free / 0.003 USDC |
Remote MCP https://token-snapshot.nextill-pos.workers.dev/mcp | token_basics (free) + token_snapshot_info | free |
HTTP API GET /v1/snapshot | Full snapshot from the hosted endpoint: fallback RPCs, Multicall3, 20 s cache | 0.003 USDC via x402 on Base |

What a snapshot contains
- token: name, symbol, decimals, total supply, block number
- price_usd with its source pool, native coin USD price, fdv_usd
- liquidity: total USD across pools found, the number of pools found, and the DEXes and quote assets checked (25 factory/chain pairs, see /dexes.json: Uniswap v2/v3, Aerodrome + Slipstream, Velodrome v2 + Slipstream, PancakeSwap v2/v3, SushiSwap, QuickSwap, Camelot, Trader Joe, Pangolin; quotes are wrapped native and the major stablecoins)
- top_pools: dex, pool address, quote asset, depth in USD, price
- holder_hints: share of supply in DEX pools, burned, held by the token contract and held by the owner, and whether the owner is a contract
- contract / risk: owner, EIP-1967 proxy implementation and admin, and flags from a bytecode selector scan (mint, pause, blacklist, fee setters, max-tx limits, trading switch, upgradeable), plus a low/medium/high level
The risk flags are heuristics from bytecode and storage. They are not an audit, and a clean result does not mean a token is safe.
CLI
npx devx-token-snapshot 0x4ed4E862860beD51a9570b96d89aF5E1B0Efefed # free: DEGEN basics on Base
# paid, 0.003 USDC per call: price, FDV, liquidity, pools, holder hints, risk flags
export X402_PRIVATE_KEY=0x... # a Base wallet holding a little USDC (use a dedicated low-balance wallet)
npx devx-token-snapshot full 0x4ed4E862860beD51a9570b96d89aF5E1B0Efefed --pools 3

npx devx-token-snapshot paid-info
How paying works: the CLI asks the API for its x402 quote, checks that it is USDC on Base, goes to 0xB3cD…f247 and is at or under --max-usd (default 0.01), then signs a gasless EIP-3009 authorization with your key via @x402/fetch. The key stays on your machine. Without a key, full prints the quote, pays nothing and exits with code 2. Since v2.0.0 the package is a thin client. It no longer computes snapshots locally.
MCP
Claude Desktop / Cursor (stdio):
{ "mcpServers": { "token-snapshot": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "devx-token-snapshot", "mcp"], "env": { "X402_PRIVATE_KEY": "0x... (optional, enables the paid tool)" } } } }
Or remote (streamable HTTP): https://token-snapshot.nextill-pos.workers.dev/mcp (free tool + info only)
Tools: token_basics (free), token_snapshot (0.003 USDC per call, pays only if X402_PRIVATE_KEY is set and never above 0.01 USDC, otherwise returns the quote), token_snapshot_info.
Paid hosted call (x402)
GET https://token-snapshot.nextill-pos.workers.dev/v1/snapshot?token=0x...&chain=base[&pools=5]
POST https://token-snapshot.nextill-pos.workers.dev/v1/snapshot {"token":"0x...","chain":"base","pools":5}
Unpaid requests get HTTP 402 with both an x402 v1 body (network: base, maxAmountRequired: 3000) and a v2 PAYMENT-REQUIRED header (eip155:8453). Pay with any x402 client, for example @x402/fetch, using your own wallet. Settlement goes through the Coinbase CDP facilitator and only happens after the snapshot has been produced. Input is checked before you are asked to pay. Free basics: GET https://token-snapshot.nextill-pos.workers.dev/api/basic?token=0x...&chain=base.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
