About Easyshell

EasyShell MCP Server connects AI assistants to the EasyShell operations platform for host management, script execution, multi-host tasks and AI inspections. It is aimed at teams who run infrastructure operations through AI assistants. It supports both local stdio and remote HTTP transports.

Key features

  1. 01Nineteen tools organized in three tiers
  2. 02Host listing and multi-host script execution
  3. 03Cluster, task and inspection management
  4. 04Audit log search and high-risk task approval
  5. 05Supports stdio and HTTP transport modes

Use cases

  1. 01Querying host status and running scripts from an AI assistant
  2. 02Scheduling and reviewing AI inspection reports
  3. 03Searching audit logs for operational records

MCP support

This project is an MCP server that exposes host management, script execution and inspection tools to MCP clients such as Claude Desktop and Cursor, with optional remote deployment over HTTP.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"easyshell": {
"command": "docker",
"args": [
"run",
"-i",
"--rm",
"compose"
]
}
}
}
Run commanddocker run -i --rm compose

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Quick Start

Claude Desktop

Add to your MCP configuration:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "easyshell": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@easyshell/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "EASYSHELL_URL": "http://localhost:18080",
        "EASYSHELL_USER": "easyshell",
        "EASYSHELL_PASS": "easyshell@changeme"
      }
    }
  }
}
Cursor

Use the same MCP server block in your Cursor MCP settings.

OpenCode

Use the same MCP server block in your OpenCode MCP configuration.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
