About Epwforge
Epwforge is an MCP server for building-energy simulation practitioners who need weather files and analysis. It can find stations, analyze and chart EPW data without an API key, and generate EPW or DDY files with authentication.
Key features
- 01Search a catalog of 17,000+ weather stations
- 02Analyze EPW conditions and statistics
- 03Render diurnal and comparison charts
- 04Generate EPW and DDY files
- 05Create climate-morphed weather scenarios
Use cases
- 01Find weather station files for a simulation location
- 02Review design conditions and monthly weather statistics
- 03Compare weather files or chart hourly profiles
- 04Generate future-scenario files for energy simulation
MCP support
Provides four tools to MCP clients: station search, weather analysis, charting, and weather-file generation. The first three work without an API key; file generation requires one.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

4| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| country | any | No | ISO 3-letter country code filter, e.g. 'USA', 'GBR', 'JPN'. |
| include_amy_extremes | boolean | No | When True with lat+lon, also returns the hottest/coldest/most-humid years on record (per ERA5). Routes through hosted MCP. |
| include_climate_deltas | boolean | No | When True with lat+lon+ssp+year, also returns the monthly CMIP6 delta-T. Routes through hosted MCP. |
| lat | any | No | Latitude — when set with lon, results sort by proximity. |
| lon | any | No | Longitude. Pair with lat. |
| max_results | integer | No | Max stations to return (default 10). |
| percentile | enum | No | Warming percentile (only used with include_climate_deltas, default 50)5 | 10 | 25 | 50 | 75 | 90 | 95 |
| query | any | No | Case-insensitive partial match on city / state. e.g. 'Boston', 'Manhattan'. |

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
