- 03Set up a company email address for a website
- 04Send replies from a domain mailbox
MCP support
Provides a hosted MCP server at https://faivelo.com/api/mcp for email, mailbox, and DNS operations. Clients connect through OAuth 2.1; headless agents can use an agent API key.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

Servers that need sign-in will prompt on first connect.

Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or any AI agent a real email inbox on your own domain. Your assistant can read and search your mail, draft and send replies, schedule sends, file messages away, create new addresses for itself, and fix your domain's DNS. You choose exactly which mailboxes it can see.
Useful when you want to:
- let your coding agent set up
[email protected]for the site it just built - give an AI agent its own address to sign up for services and receive verification codes
- triage, summarise and answer a support inbox from Claude
- send a reply from your real address without opening a mail app
Server URL: https://faivelo.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1, no API key to paste)

Install
| Client | One command |
|---|---|
| Claude Code (plugin: MCP + skill) | /plugin marketplace add ethannschwartz/faivelo-mcp then /plugin install faivelo@faivelo |
| Claude Code (MCP only) | claude mcp add --transport http faivelo https://faivelo.com/api/mcp |
| claude.ai / Claude Desktop | Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste https://faivelo.com/api/mcp |
| Cursor (plugin: MCP + rule + skill) | /add-plugin faivelo in the agent chat, or Add to Cursor for the server alone (see Cursor) |
| VS Code | Install in VS Code |
| Codex | codex mcp add faivelo --url https://faivelo.com/api/mcp |
| Gemini CLI | gemini extensions install https://github.com/ethannschwartz/faivelo-mcp |
| Windsurf | { "mcpServers": { "faivelo": { "serverUrl": "https://faivelo.com/api/mcp" } } } in mcp_config.json |
| Any Agent Skills client | npx skills add ethannschwartz/faivelo-mcp (the faivelo-email skill) |
| Other clients | { "mcpServers": { "faivelo": { "url": "https://faivelo.com/api/mcp" } } } |
The first call opens a browser sign-in, where you choose exactly which mailboxes the assistant can reach.
Headless agents (no browser): send an API key instead,
Authorization: Bearer fvl_live_.... Create an agent key at
Settings → Developers; it
only reaches the mailboxes it creates or is granted.
Cursor
Two ways in. Both sign you in through the browser on the first call; there is no key to paste.
- Plugin (once it is listed on the Cursor Marketplace): type
/add-plugin faiveloin the agent chat, or find Faivelo under Settings → Plugins. The plugin installs the MCP server, thefaivelo-emailskill and a rule that teaches the agent to set up email on a domain, send from an app and verify webhooks. - Server only: Add to Cursor,
or put
{ "mcpServers": { "faivelo": { "url": "https://faivelo.com/api/mcp" } } }in.cursor/mcp.json(this project) or~/.cursor/mcp.json(every project). Add"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer fvl_live_..." }for a headless setup.
Cursor sends at most about 40 tools to the model across every MCP server
you have enabled. Faivelo exposes 30 to 34 tools on an OAuth connection
(38 with an API key), so if you run other servers alongside it, switch off
the tools you do not need in Cursor's MCP settings; the Drive tools
(drive_list_files, drive_download_file) and the scheduling tools
(list_scheduled, cancel_scheduled) are the usual first picks.
Tools
| Area | Tools |
|---|---|
| Reading | list_messages, read_message, get_thread, search_messages, search_all_mailboxes, list_folders, get_attachment, get_contacts |
| Sending | send_message, send_batch (one templated email to many recipients, queued and paced server-side), get_batch_status, create_draft, update_draft, send_draft, list_scheduled, cancel_scheduled, get_delivery_status |
| Organising | flag_message, label_message, move_message, restore_message, mark_spam, mark_all_read, delete_message, empty_trash |
| Account | list_mailboxes, create_mailbox, update_mailbox (set the name a mailbox sends as), get_account_summary, get_setup_summary, get_domain_setup (a domain's DNS records, found or missing), list_aliases, create_alias, delete_alias |
| Domains & DNS | list_domains, list_dns_records, create_dns_record, update_dns_record, delete_dns_record |
| Drive | drive_list_files, drive_download_file |
send_message and send_batch take from as "[email protected]" or
"Support Bot <[email protected]>"; a name there (or fromName) is the
From name for that message only. Give each mailbox a lasting name with
displayName on create_mailbox or with update_mailbox; a send from a
mailbox with no name anywhere returns a hint saying so.
get_setup_summary returns a shareable markdown summary of what is set up
(domains, DNS state, mailboxes, what is still pending), for an agent to hand
to its human when it finishes.
Every tool declares readOnlyHint / destructiveHint, so clients can ask
before anything that sends or deletes.

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
