About Fibery MCP Server

A deprecated local Fibery MCP server whose legacy version no longer receives updates or fixes. The README recommends switching to the Fibery remote server and retains the old installation configuration for reference.

Key features

  1. 01Local MCP server is deprecated
  2. 02Legacy version receives no updates
  3. 03Legacy setup instructions retained

Use cases

  1. 01Refer to the legacy local setup
  2. 02Migrate to the Fibery remote server

MCP support

The legacy local server was intended for MCP clients; the project now recommends the Fibery remote server. The README lists connection options for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Claude Code.

Configuration

Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.

mcp.json · Universal config
{
"mcpServers": {
"fibery": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"@smithery/cli"
]
}
}
}
Run commandnpx -y @smithery/cli

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

Packages
npm@smithery/cli

Tools

No tool list yet

Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

⚠️ Deprecated

This local MCP server is deprecated and no longer receives updates. Use the Fibery remote MCP server instead:

  • Claude: install the Fibery connector from the Claude directory.
  • ChatGPT: install the Fibery app in ChatGPT.
  • Cursor: add {"mcpServers": {"fibery": {"url": "https://mcp.fibery.io/mcp"}}} to ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http fibery https://mcp.fibery.io/mcp

For other clients, see Connecting to Fibery MCP.

Legacy (unsupported)

These instructions are kept for reference only. This server no longer receives fixes or updates.

Prerequisites
  • A Fibery account with an API token
  • Python 3.10 or higher
  • uv
Installation
  1. Install the tool using uv:
uv tool install fibery-mcp-server
  1. Then, add this configuration to your MCP client config file. In Claude Desktop, you can access the config in Settings → Developer → Edit Config:
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "fibery-mcp-server": {
            "command": "uv",
            "args": [
                 "tool",
                 "run",
                 "fibery-mcp-server",
                 "--fibery-host",
                 "your-domain.fibery.io",
                 "--fibery-api-token",
                 "your-api-token"
            ]
        }
    }
}

Note: If "uv" command does not work, try absolute path (i.e. /Users/username/.local/bin/uv)

For Development:

{
    "mcpServers": {
        "fibery-mcp-server": {
            "command": "uv",
            "args": [
                "--directory",
                "path/to/cloned/fibery-mcp-server",
                "run",
                "fibery-mcp-server",
                "--fibery-host",
                 "your-domain.fibery.io",
                 "--fibery-api-token",
                 "your-api-token"
            ]
        }
    }
}

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
