About Firedrill
Firedrill is a standalone stdio MCP client that lets coding agents operate Firedrill simulations and inspect retained evidence. It is for operators working from an application repository, with explicit authorization, scoped credentials and separate execution and evaluation steps.
Key features
- 01Discovers schemas and project context
- 02Prepares simulations and reviews recipes
- 03Inspects retained reports and evidence
- 04Compares runs using scoped results
- 05Manages authorized synthetic Tools
Use cases
- 01Preparing a simulation from an application repository
- 02Reviewing evidence and comparing simulation runs
- 03Using an authorized scoped token in CI
MCP support
Firedrill is an stdio MCP client that connects a coding agent to Firedrill on the operator’s behalf. It reuses a protected login or uses an authorized FIREDRILL_TOKEN, and does not contain the Firedrill service or execute customer applications itself.
Configuration
Remote servers need no local install. Pick your client, then copy the config or install in one click.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
