FOCUS DATA MCP Server lets AI assistants query DataFocus tables in natural language, for users who need conversational data analysis. It supports table selection, dialogue initialization, and multi-turn data queries.
Key features
- 01List and filter data tables
- 02Initialize dialogue with selected tables
- 03Query results in natural language
- 04Configure English or Chinese
Use cases
- 01Find tables to analyze in DataFocus
- 02Start a query dialogue for selected tables
- 03Ask for measures such as total salary in natural language
MCP support
The MCP server exposes table listing, dialogue initialization, and natural-language data-query tools to AI assistants, using a DataFocus bearer token to access data.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.
Details
From the project READMEFOCUS DATA MCP Server [中文]
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables artificial intelligence assistants to directly query data results. Users can obtain data results from DataFocus using natural language.
Features
- Register on DataFocus to open an application space, and import (directly connect to) the data tables to be analyzed.
- Select Datafocus data table initialization dialogue
- Natural language data acquisition results
Prerequisites
- jdk 23 or higher. Download jdk
- gradle 8.12 or higher. Download gradle
- register Datafocus to obtain bearer token:
- Register an account in Datafocus
- Create an application
- Enter the application
- Admin -> Interface authentication -> Bearer Token -> New Bearer Token

Installation
- Clone this repository:
git clone https://github.com/FocusSearch/focus_mcp_data.git
cd focus_mcp_data
- Build the server:
gradle clean
gradle bootJar
The jar path: build/libs/focus_mcp_data.jar
MCP Configuration
Add the server to your MCP settings file (usually located
at ~/AppData/Roaming/Code/User/globalStorage/saoudrizwan.claude-dev/settings/cline_mcp_settings.json):

New to MCP?
From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
