Environment variables to set
REVIEWABLE_MCP_BASE_URLOptional advanced HTTPS origin override for self-hosted, staging, loopback, or a reachable interim service when the canonical domain is blocked.
REVIEWABLE_MCP_WORKSPACE_KEYSecretAdvanced compatibility credential for workspace reads and private-review creation. It takes precedence over a stored browser grant; keep it local and do not combine it with reviewer share URLs.
REVIEWABLE_MCP_REVIEWSSecretAdvanced least-privilege credential: one or more reviewer share URLs for read-only access to those reviews. Takes precedence over a stored browser grant; owner links are rejected.

Local servers need a runtime on your machine (e.g. Node.js 18+). Config file locations differ by client; see your client’s docs.

New to MCP?

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.

An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
