About Elementor MCP Lite
Elementor MCP Lite is a local, read-only MCP server for WordPress and Elementor sites. It helps inspect site connectivity, document listings, and supplied layout JSON, without editing or publishing capabilities.
Key features
- 01List configured sites and platforms
- 02Probe authenticated site connectivity
- 03List up to 10 documents
- 04Count node totals and types in local layouts
Use cases
- 01Check connectivity to configured sites
- 02Review Elementor document titles, IDs, and status
- 03Summarize node counts and types in supplied layout JSON
MCP support
It provides four read-only tools and an Upgrade to Pro resource to MCP clients over local stdio. The server accesses the configured site's Elementor MCP companion.
Configuration
Local server config is the same for every client. Copy it into your client’s MCP config file.
We haven’t collected a package or remote endpoint for this server. Follow the instructions in the project README.
Tools
Local servers expose tools only once running on your machine, and the maintainer has not provided a tool list.

Upgrade to Pro in your MCP client
Open the resource Upgrade to Pro (gmc://lite/pro-features) to see the
capability comparison and the product's current plans. Editing, publishing,
full import/export, bulk editing and restoration are labelled unavailable
in Lite. They are informational previews; no Pro code or executable Pro
tools are bundled. The free tools keep working without an upgrade.
MCP clients decide how resources are displayed, so this is not a guaranteed popup or a graphical settings panel. Ask your assistant to read the resource if its client does not expose a resource browser.
Guide and presentation
- Practical Lite guide (English): prerequisites, setup and a first read-only session.
- Presentation for clients (Italian PDF): a short overview of the three Lite clients and the separate Pro editions.
- Pro features and annual plans.
Prerequisites
Python 3.10 or newer. WordPress with Elementor and the GMC Elementor MCP companion (0.5.0+), plus a WordPress Application Password. The companion is obtained separately from GMC at [email protected]; its implementation is not included in this repository. Pro is required for the corresponding Elementor Pro features. Lite's MCP ping checks the companion, not theme editing capability.

Configure
- Copy
sites.example.jsonto a localsites.jsonand keep only the sites you own or are authorized to access. The file is ignored by Git. - Set the credential environment variables named by
username_env,password_env, and the applicable Joomla token/key field. Never put credential values in committed JSON or an MCP chat. - Set
ELEMENTOR_MCP_LITE_SITESto the absolute path of that local JSON file. - Add the server using
mcp.example.json: replace the placeholders with the absolute Python executable and configuration file paths. Ensure the MCP client passes the credential variables to its child process. - Start with
elementor_lite_list_sites, thenelementor_lite_ping_site.
rest_mode: "query" supports WordPress without pretty REST URLs; otherwise
use pretty. Subdirectory installations are supported in the base URL.
Tools
elementor_lite_list_sites: aliases and platforms only.elementor_lite_ping_site: one authenticated GET, sanitized status only.elementor_lite_list_documents: List at most ten Elementor document titles, ids and status; no document export.elementor_lite_summarize_layout: pass the text fromlayout.example.jsonaslayout_json. Returns counts and types; no settings or content.
The server runs locally using stdio. No remote HTTP server, uploads, arbitrary URLs, SSH, license switch or Pro modules are included. Online tools use a fixed GET allowlist, verified TLS, no redirects, at most one request at a time per configured base URL, a two-second interval, and a 1 MiB response limit. HTTP is accepted only for exact loopback hosts. HTTP 403/415 stops subsequent requests to that base URL until restart.
Release status
Version 0.1.3, qualified on 26 October 2026 against disposable WordPress
7.1.3, Elementor Core 4.3.5 and GMC companion 0.5.4. A real MCP SDK
stdio session discovered all four read-only tools and exercised site listing,
authenticated ping, bounded document listing and local layout summarization.
The Upgrade to Pro resource rendered with real Markdown line breaks, and a
request for a Pro mutation tool was rejected. A regression first reproduced
the former literal \\n output and passed after the fix.
This edition only reads the companion's classic document listing; it does not use Elementor's separate native MCP/Atomic abilities. Elementor Pro 4.3.2 was unavailable in the lab and its runtime features were not tested. Browser editor, screenshot and production integration checks are outside this run.

From what the protocol is to installing your first server, these answers cover most first questions.
An open protocol that defines how AI applications connect to external tools and data in a uniform way. Clients talk to the model; MCP servers provide tools, resources and prompt templates. They exchange standard messages, so one server can be reused by many clients.
